Gas prices have remained even locally but continue to edge down across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole during the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, stayed at $3.43 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by a couple cents over the same period of time to settle at $3.37. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $3.06, while the most expensive is in Bradford at $3.62.
The average national gas price remained steady over the past week at $3.07. This is the same as a month ago and 23 cents less than one year ago. Demand for gas increased slightly while the price of oil dropped slightly as a result of news that domestic commercial crude stocks rose.
