Gas prices have increased again both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, rose by two cents to reach $3.40 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by a nickel to sit at $3.43. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.29, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.59.
The average national gas price stayed even over the past week at $3.07 which is the same as it was last year at this time. Demand for gas rose but the price of crude oil dropped below $60 a barrel this past week.
