Gas prices continue to rise locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, jumped to $2.67 per gallon which is an increase of 12 cents since last week after increasing by 13 cents the week before.
Prices climbed by a dime to $2.70 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.50 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.80 in Bradford.
The average national gas price has risen by seven cents over the last week to $2.38 which is 13 more cents since the beginning of the year but 17 cents less than this date last year. AAA reports that crude oil price continues to rise even though demand remains low resulting in additional gas price increases at least through the end of the month.
