Gas prices continue to sink locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.45 per gallon which is a decrease of two cents compared to last week.
Prices dropped by a penny to $2.53 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Jeannette at $ 2.35 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.60 in Oil City and Warren.
The average national gas price also declined slightly this week to $2.16 which is two cents less than last week and 49 cents less than last year. According to AAA, even though gasoline stocks and imports have decreased, demand continues to remain low which keeps prices low.
