Gas prices have dropped slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, fell by four cents over the past week to settle at $4.29 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by six cents during that same time to reach $4.31. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $4.24, while the most expensive is $4.39 in Warren.
The average national gas price dropped by seven cents over the past week to reach $4.25. According to AAA, the price of crude oil remains near $110 per barrel. The demand for gas dipped slightly. Experts forecast that the price of oil is likely to continue as the driving factor behind gas prices at the pump.
