Gas prices have declined slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.34 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also went down by a cent during that same time to $3.32. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Jeanette at $3.28 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.36 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by two cents over the past week to $3.16 which is still 98 cents more than last year. The price of crude oil has declined and AAA expects that combined with a decline in gasoline demand to spell relief at the pump for motorists.
