Gas prices have dropped slightly this week both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, decreased by a penny over the past week to $3.56 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also fell by a cent during that same time to $3.58. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.50 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.67 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.40. According to AAA, although the price of crude oil and the demand for gas both continued to decrease this week, motorists hitting the roads ahead of the holiday are still paying an average of 81 cents more per gallon than the same time in 2019.
