Gas prices have declined slightly this week both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by two cents over the past week to $3.44 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole fell by a penny during that same time to reach $3.52. Butler has the most affordable average price for gas in the area, while the most expensive is $3.58 in Mercer.
The average national gas price held steady over the past week at $3.28 which is eight cents less than last month but over a dollar more than last year. According to AAA, gasoline demand has remained high and gas stocks have dropped but fluctuations in the price of crude oil have kept prices at the pump in check.
