Gas prices have dropped slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, declined by two cents over the past week to reach $3.97 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also dropped by two cents during that same time to arrive at $4.02. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.71, while the most expensive is $4.16 in Oil City.
Even though the average national gas price decreased by 11 cents over the past week to reach $3.66 this still marks the highest price for gas over Thanksgiving. Both the demand for gas and the cost of oil dropped over the past week as a result of economic concerns.
