Gas prices are continuing to drop both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, decreased by eight cents to reach $3.46 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by seven cents over the same period of time to also settle at $3.46. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $3.22, while the most expensive is in Kittanning at $3.66.
The average national gas price dropped by nine cents over the past week to reach $3.06. This is three cents less than the lowest price of 2022. Although demand for gas increased slightly last week, the price of oil has remained mostly even due to concern about an economic recession.
