Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have inched lower both regionally and locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.79 per gallon which is two cents cheaper compared to last week.
Prices also dropped by two cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.85 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $2.67 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.96 in Warren.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny to $2.57, which is five cents cheaper than last month but 15 cents more expensive than this date last year, according to AAA. AAA expects gas prices to continue to fall through the end of the year as gasoline stocks continue to grow.
