Gas prices are falling both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by nine cents to reach $3.68 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by three cents to $3.70. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $3.48, while the most expensive is in Beaver at $3.81.
The average national gas price fell by six cents over the past week to reach $3.35. This is 16 cents less than a month ago and 47 cents less than one year ago. Although the price of oil decreased, gas demand and gas production both increased.
