Gas prices have remained relatively even both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, rose by two cents to reach $3.90 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by a penny over the same period of time to settle at $3.81. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.72, while the most expensive is here in Butler at $3.90.
The average national gas price fell by a penny over the past week to reach $3.66 which is 22 cents more per gallon than a month ago but 46 cents less than one year ago.
Both demand for gas and the cost of oil dropped this week but gas prices stayed stable as a result of the price of oil earlier this month.
