Gas prices in western Pennsylvania continue to stay relatively the same even as supply outpaces demand in most areas.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.45 per gallon which is a penny less compared to last week.
Prices were even across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, at $2.47 per gallon. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Washington at $ 2.39 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.50 in Mercer.
The average national gas price rose by a penny this week to $2.19 which is nine cents more than last month but nearly 60 cents less than last year. According to AAA, relatively low demand and high supply are keeping gas prices in check so far this summer.
