Gas prices mostly held steady locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.47 per gallon which is a decrease of a penny compared to last week.
Prices rose by a penny to $2.54 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Jeannette at $ 2.34 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.60 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price also remained even this week at $2.18 which is a penny less than one month ago and 45 cents less than last year. According to AAA, even though 91% of oil production in the Gulf of Mexico is offline as a result of Hurricane Delta, production is expected to resume later this week. Demand continues to remain low.
