Gas prices have continued to remain steady both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $3.04 per gallon which is an increase of a penny compared to two weeks ago.
Prices also increased by a penny to $3.00 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past two weeks. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.83 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.10 in Bradford and Mercer.
The average national gas price has remained even over the last two weeks at $2.87 which is over a dollar more than a year ago and on par with April of 2019. Even though gasoline demand has reached the highest amount in over a year and crude oil prices have risen, AAA expects pump prices to remain steady as a result of refinery utilization.
