Gas prices dropped once again both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by a penny over the past week to settle at $4.00 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by three cents during that same time to arrive at $3.98. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.73, while the most expensive is $4.10 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price decreased by seven cents over the past week to reach $3.71 which is the most affordable since the beginning of March. Although the demand for domestic gas increased slightly, the price of crude oil dropped last week based on global economic concerns.
