Gas prices have been mostly steady both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by a penny to settle at $3.50 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by a penny to reach $3.49. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Washington at $3.36, while the most expensive is in Bradford at $3.77.
The average national gas price fell by four cents over the past week to $3.17. This is 11 cents lower than last month and 55 cents lower than this time last year. Demand for gas decreased but the price of a barrel of crude oil increased to over $70 a barrel due in part to ongoing concerns about tensions between Iran and Israel.
