Gas prices mostly remained steady both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, increased by a penny over the past week to $3.30 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by two cents during that same time to reach $3.34. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $3.26 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.46 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.17. Recovery following Hurricane Ida remains slow with some refinery capacity still offline. AAA expects reduced supply to combine with a decline in demand to result in stability at the pump.
