Gas prices have stayed the same locally but continued to increase across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole during the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, remained even at $3.49 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole rose by a nickel over the same period of time to reach $3.44. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $3.30, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.60.
The average national gas price increased by four cents over the past week to reach $3.14. This is six cents more than a month ago and but 33 cents less than one year ago. Although demand for gas increased, the price of oil dropped slightly after no new attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.
