Gas prices have remained mostly steady locally as they ticked up a bit across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, remains $2.41 per gallon which is identical to the price it was last week.
Prices increased by two cents to $2.50 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.21 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.60 in Oil City and Warren.
The average national gas price rose by a penny this week to $2.12 which is five cents less than last month and 48 cents cheaper than this date last year. Demand for gas increased last week while gasoline stocks continue to remain low but AAA does not expect this trend to continue as many states are dealing with rising cases of COVID-19.
