Gas prices have remained steady locally this week while continuing to rise across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, held steady at $2.97 per gallon which is nearly identical to last week.
Prices rose by three cents to $2.97 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Greensburg at $ 2.86 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.99 in Beaver and Warren.
The average national gas price has risen by nine cents over the last week to $2.72 which marks a 30 cent increase over the last month and 28 cents more than one year ago. AAA anticipates additional gas price increases as a result of continued increases in crude oil and weather-related low refinery utilization.
