Gas prices have remained mostly steady both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by a penny to $3.23 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole stayed even over the past week at $3.24. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $3.15 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.29 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price rose by two cents over the past week to $3.09 as a result of the highest price for crude oil in nearly three years. AAA expects high demand through the upcoming holiday weekend to result in the highest gas prices for this time of year since 2014.
