Gas prices remained mostly steady both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Tuesday, increased by a penny to $3.24 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole stayed even over the past week at $3.24. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in DuBois at $3.19 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.28 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price rose by four cents over the past week to $3.13 as a result of what is expected to be the highest price for crude oil in seven years. AAA expects high demand for gas continue to push prices higher through the end of the summer.
