Gas prices are continuing to inch higher locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, rose to $3.08 per gallon which is a penny more than last week.
Prices also increased by a penny to $3.06 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Clarion at $ 2.96 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.10 in Mercer and Warren.
The average national gas price has jumped by nine cents over the last week to $2.86 which equals 14% more than last month. AAA expects prices to continue increasing this week as a result of a decline in gasoline reserves as well as a substantial rise in demand.
