Gas prices increased locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, rose to $2.42 per gallon which is a jump of six cents compared to last week.
Prices increased by four cents to $2.51 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.24 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.67 in Altoona.
The average national gas price has risen by nine cents over the last month to $2.25 but still 33 cents cheaper than this date last year. AAA expects pump price stability to continue as a result of consistent crude oil prices combined with low demand.
