Gas prices have shot up both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, increased to $3.57 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by 16 cents to reach $3.49. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Latrobe at $3.21, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.66.
The average national gas price rose by two cents over the past week to $3.16. The price of a barrel of crude oil increased by nearly $10 a barrel as a result of Israel’s attack against Iran.
