Gas prices have risen locally but dropped slightly across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, increased by a nickel over the past week to reach $3.49 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by a penny during that same time to reach $3.54. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.40, while the most expensive is $3.60 in Oil City and Warren.
The average national gas price dropped by three cents over the past week to reach $3.30 which is 11 cents less than last month but over a dollar more than last year. According to AAA, gasoline demand surged last week but a drop in the price of crude oil is keeping prices stable.
