Gas prices have increased both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, increased by nine cents to reach $3.19 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole rose by a nickel to sit at $3.17. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.01, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.43.
The average national gas price stayed even through the past week at $2.82 which is about 30 cents lower per gallon than last year. Both gasoline demand and oil prices increased slightly last week.
