Gas prices have increased both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, jumped by a dime to reach $3.32 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by a nickel to sit at $3.29. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.00, while the most expensive is in Bradford at $3.39.
The average national gas price is up by two cents over the past week to $2.94 but this is still lower than one year ago when gas averaged $3.03. Both gasoline demand as well as oil prices continued to increase over the last week.
