Gas prices have remained relatively even both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, remained steady at $3.93 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by a penny over the same period of time to reach $3.86. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.60, while the most expensive is in Mercer at $4.00.
The average national gas price dropped by four cents over the past week to hit $3.82. This is eight cents more than a month ago but four cents less than one year ago. Demand for gas increased but the price of oil decreased due to market concerns about an economic slowdown in China which is the largest importer of oil in the world.
