Gas prices have continued to remain mostly steady this week both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, increased by a penny over the past week to $3.57 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also rose by a cent during that same time to $3.59. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Greensburg at $3.53 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.67 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.41. According to AAA, although both the price of crude oil and the demand for gas decreased slightly this week, domestic crude supply is still down 11 percent compared to last year at this time.
