Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have increased over the last week both regionally and locally for the first time in nearly three months.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.06 per gallon which is an increase of six cents compared to last week.
Prices rose by three cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.10 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $1.96 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.18 in Beaver.
The average national gas price increased by six cents this week to $1.84 which is still three cents cheaper per gallon than it was last month. As demand for gasoline increases and gasoline stocks decrease, AAA expects pump prices to continue climbing in the coming weeks.
