Gas prices in western Pennsylvania continue to sink both regionally and locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.78 per gallon which is a penny cheaper compared to last week.
Prices dropped by two cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.83 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $2.65 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.95 in Meadville.
The average national gas price dropped by a penny to $2.55, which is five cents cheaper than last month but 18 cents more expensive than this date last year. Decreasing demand for gas combined with increasing stocks have kept prices low but crude oil prices could jump with more news about a U.S and China trade agreement.
