Gas prices have been inching down both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by a penny to reach $3.54 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by two cents to settle at $3.50. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Washington at $3.31, while the most expensive is in Bradford at $3.78.
The average national gas price remained even over the past week at $3.20. This is 17 cents lower than last month and 65 cents lower than this time last year. Demand for gas increased slightly but the price of a barrel of crude oil decreased to just under $71.
