Gas prices continue to decrease both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, decreased by four cents to reach $3.87 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by a nickel over the same period of time to settle at $3.85. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $3.69, while the most expensive is in Beaver at $3.94.
The average national gas price dropped by a dime over the past week to reach $3.64. This is 27 cents less than a month ago and 28 cents lower than one year ago. Demand for gas increased, and the price of oil rose as well due to uncertainty surrounding the conflict in the Middle East.
