Gay O. Stewart, of Butler, entered the Church Triumphant on Thursday, July 14, 2022, after a short illness. Gay was a woman of strong faith and enjoyed volunteering at church and teaching Bethel Bible Series.
Gay graduated from Kittanning High School and Kittanning Beauty School. She also directed advertising campaigns for Armstrong Utilities, YWCA Presents Lecture Series, Intermediate League of Butler, Butler Public Library, Junior Women’s Club of Butler, and Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Gay lived for her grandchildren. She was their number one fan and supporter. She spent countless hours in the audience at the Little Theater, at gym meets, at tennis matches, and at band concerts.
Gay is survived by her husband, Bill Stewart of Butler, son and daughter-in-law, Jud and Michelle Stewart, and daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Mark Brestensky, all of Butler, and five wonderful grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held virtually on Wednesday, July 20, at 2:00 pm at https://youtu.be/PI9RdJKP40U. If you wish to honor Gay, the family requests donations be made to Butler Meals on Wheels, 218 East Jefferson Street, Butler, PA 16001.
Arrangements were entrusted to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
