Gaye L. Lackey, age 67, of Butler, passed away Thursday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cowansville on April 13, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Twila Crawford Bowser.
Gaye worked in the healthcare field at several personal care homes in Butler.
She deeply loved her family, and the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren was particularly important to her and treasured.
Gaye attended Saint Wendelin Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of American Legion Post 117 in Butler and the A.A.R.P. She enjoyed dancing and country music.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Donald D. Lackey, whom she married March 2, 2002; one daughter, Chalace Schaffner and her husband, Nick, of Fenelton; two stepdaughters, Cathy Tomsey and her husband, John, of Chicora, and Marci Lackey, of Butler; one sister, Carol Dowling and her husband, Harvey, of Kittanning; one sister-in-law, Doris Bowser, of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Gaye is also survived by seven grandchildren, Hunter, Tanner, and Conner Schaffner, Elaina, Crystal, and Breanna Tomsey, and Shane Lackey; and one great-grandson, Gabriel Bauer.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle and Keith Bowser.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. from Saint Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, with Reverend Matthew McClain, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Saint John Reformed Cemetery, Armstrong County.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Saint Wendelin School, 211 Saint Wendelin Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, 16002.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler.
