George V. Dellen, Sr., 73, of East Brady, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 9, 1948, in Butler, the son of the late Steve and Dorothy (Gordon) Dellen.
George was a proud veteran of the Navy (Vietnam) serving onboard the USS Winston. He enjoyed hunting, boating, watching his children and especially his granddaughter play sports. Lifetime member of the VFW and United Mine Workers. George spent 31 years with Penn Allegh as a coal miner. He then went to work at Penreco – Calumet as a Boiler Operator and Plant Mechanic retiring after 15 years.
Surviving is his wife, Marie Dellen; his daughter, Linda (Ed) Metzmaier of Gibsonia; and his son, George (Heather) Dellen Jr. of East Brady; and his granddaughter, Sarah Metzmaier; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Diane Dellen.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Officers and Members of the American Legion Post #117, American Legion Post #778, and the VFW Post #249 will conduct military services at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
A private burial will take place at North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.
