It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald Guy Colosimo announces his passing after a brief illness. Gerry, 58 of Concord, NC passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Atrium HealthCare Northeast in Concord, NC. Born September 22, 1960 in Grove City, he was the son of the late Guy and Frances (Barron) Colosimo.
A 1979 graduate of Butler High School, Gerry received his bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University. Gerry worked at the Bank of America in Charlotte, NC.
Gerry was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, cycling, running, and was a devoted – some may say passionate – Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Gerry loved to travel and was planning a trip to Italy in July.
He is remembered with love by his sister, Patsi (Mark) Photiou of Florida, his twin brother, George (Patty) Colosimo of Butler, his brother, Kevin Colosimo of Gibsonia, a nephew, Christian (Dennis)Thompson of Florida, a niece, Nicole (Brandon) Tonya of Butler, close friend Sherry Stevenson of Burgettstown, and his two daily companions Troy and Chelsea, his much loved Portuguese Water dogs.
Friends and family will gather at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson Street, Butler on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 5PM – 8PM to share memories and celebrate Gerry’s life.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:00AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main Street Ext., Butler, PA.
Donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Gerry.
