A high ranking German official spent time in Saxonburg last night.
German Consul General David Gill stopped by the town to visit historical locations and enjoy the monthly Mingle on Main.
He was invited to the area after State Representative Marci Mustello heard Gill give a speech in Harrisburg, where he mentioned the connections Germany has to Saxonburg’s founding.
“We talked about Saxonburg and she invited me to come. I happily agreed to do that,” Gill said. “To be honest, I was thinking about this trip before but there was never a reason or occasion I could imagine. But, then I got one.”
Gill is the highest ranking German official to visit Saxonburg.
