The San Francisco Giants defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-4 Sunday afternoon in 10-innings, completing a three-game series sweep of the Bucs. After the Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, the Giants scoring three runs in the third inning. The Pirates tied the game in the eighth inning, but the Giants outscored the Bucs 5-1 in the extra inning.
Henry Davis and Bryan Reynolds had two hits each for the Pirates.
The Bucs fell 3-1 Saturday after a 6-4 loss Friday night.
The Pirates began the season 20-8 overall, but have gone 21-44 overall since then. They will host the Cleveland Guardians for a three-game series tonight at PNC Park. First pitch is 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:40pm.
