Police have released more information about an inmate that briefly fled police custody and the woman who helped plan the escape.
In May, police charged then 28-year-old Damean Felmlee for abusing and stealing from a woman in Brady Township. In August before his preliminary hearing Felmlee briefly escaped custody and took off in Butler’s Island neighborhood.
He was eventually caught but new charges have been filed against 25-year-old Heidi Boots, Felmlee’s girlfriend, for playing a role in the attempted escape plan.
According to a criminal complaint, Boots and Felmlee talked about the escape during seven different calls while Felmlee was in the Mercer County Prison awaiting a separate court hearing.
Felmlee told Boots to wait at Vin and Joe’s Restaurant as he escaped from police custody. However, he never made it there and was apprehended on West Diamond Street.
Boots has been charged with escape and Felmlee has been charged with escape and conspiracy.
