Gladdie Carole Paczek, age 75, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of her home on Mon., Sept. 25, 2023.
Born in Butler on July 15, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Michael “Mike” and Helen Gladis Timko.
She was employed as a paraprofessional at Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, retiring in 2013 with 24 years’ service. She also served as past union president.
She was also the owner/operator of Gladdie’s Ceramics. Gladdie and her students received many awards over the years for their outstanding ceramics work.
Gladdie was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Conrad Roman Catholic Church.
She belonged to the American Legion Post 778 Auxiliary and she was a life member of the Slovak Club.
Gladdie enjoyed going to the casino, but – above all – she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas “Pete” Paczek, whom she married Oct. 19, 1968; two children, Jo-Beth Hutchison and her husband, Tim, of Renfrew, and Wendy Gourley and her companion, Darrell Pacoe, of Lyndora; one brother, Mike Timko; one sister, Debbe Crevar and her husband, Bill, of Butler; six grandchildren, Shane, Dylan, Zakary, Regan, Brynn, and Rhyleigh; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jane Paczek.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. from All Saints Parish, Saint Conrad Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Rd., Butler, with Rev. Jack Nanz officiating.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
