Gladys “Gaye” Kerry-Ciesynski
1936-2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gaye on August 13, 2024, at the age of 88, after a long and fulfilling life.
Born in Kaylor, Pennsylvania, to Homer William Claypoole and Freda Mae Crawford. Gaye was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Marcie and her beloved husbands, Donald J. Kerry and John ”Jack” Ciesynski.
Gaye was a longtime resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Fort Myers, Florida. She dedicated many years to the service industry, working as a manager, bartender and hostess at various Butler taverns and restaurants. Her warm smile, infectious laughter and welcoming nature made her a beloved figure among patrons and colleagues. As a second career, she found her calling helping people as a licensed massage therapist until an injury forced her into retirement.
When at home, Gaye could often be found listening to music, enjoying a classic western film or playing cards with loved ones.
Whether she was swaying to the music or pulling someone to the dance floor, Gaye’s deep love of music and dancing was undeniable.
She was also a woman of remarkable generosity, giving to many organizations and others throughout her life.
Gaye is survived by her loving children, Dianna (Lorrie) MacDonald, Jamie (Bailey) MacDonald, sister Deb (George) Kraynik, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a niece, two nephews and several beloved friends.
In accordance with her wishes, a private service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Warwick Retired Firefighters Association at 750 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI 02888.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those she touched during her lifetime.
