Glen A. Craig, 62, of Chicora, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, January 23, 2022 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Glen was born in Butler on April 1, 1959. He was the son of Maxine Schnell Craig, and the late Earl R. Craig.
Glen was a 1977 graduate of Karns City Area High School. For almost a half-century, Glen was a dedicated active member of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department; throughout his 47 years of service, Glen was a senior firefighter and had also served in the department’s EMS. Glen enjoyed watching football, listening to music, playing cards, and most especially the company of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Double Craig, whom he married at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church in Chicora on August 10, 1979; four children, Pam Burns and her husband, Dan, Kent Craig, and his wife, Beth, Stephanie Bayne, and Laura Kiser, and her husband, Rich; eight grandchildren, Billy, Kendale, Nevin, and Jeb Burns, Trent Craig, and Wyatt, Riece, and Kadence Bayne; a brother, Keith Craig and his wife, Becky; a sister, Linda Lewis, and her husband, Tom; his brother-in-law, Bill Double and his wife, Cathy; and his sister-in-law, Kim Sherwood, and her husband, Lee, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his father, Glen was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale and Eleanor Double.
A private visitation and funeral service officiated by the Rev. Mark Wallace, pastor of the Chicora Alliance Church, will be held at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.
