It is Good Friday, which begins the Easter weekend.
All school districts across Butler County have the day off. The City of Butler offices are also closed today. The stock market does not trade on Good Friday either.
However, since Good Friday is not a federal or state holiday, most other government institutions will be open, including the postal service.
Many retailers and restaurants are open today as well.
