A challenger to Congressman Mike Kelly has officially announced he is launching his campaign.
39-year-old Republican Tim Kramer will be Kelly’s first primary challenger since Kelly ran for office in 2010. Kramer is the coordinator of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program which provides free income tax assistance to those making under $50,000.
Kramer has decided to run against Kelly because he believes that voters are yearning for a change in politicians.
“They’ve seen what they’ve been getting from the same old, same old establishment. I think the district, and the nation, is ready for a change to someone who is different and will represent them,” Kramer said.
Kramer is a Slippery Rock native and graduated from Butler County Community College.
