A group of Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers are filing a lawsuit arguing that mail-in ballots are against the state constitution.
Local State Representative Tim Bonner joined 13 other GOP lawmakers in filing the suit last week.
A previous lawsuit that was filed last year by Congressman Mike Kelly and candidate Sean Parnell made the same argument, however the state Supreme Court said it was filed too late and could not toss out ballots filed late.
No excuse mail-in ballots passed along with other election reforms in Act 77, which passed with bipartisan support in 2019.
Bonner was not in the legislature at the time—however nine other representatives in the suit did vote in favor of the law.
