Republicans in the Pennsylvania legislature are mounting another effort to strip Governor Tom Wolf of some powers during times of emergencies.
The house voted, largely along partisan lines, on a bill that would end Wolf’s existing restrictions and allow counties to be in-charge handling business shut downs.
The bill would also amend the state constitution to limit an emergency declaration by the governor to 21 days, unless extended by the legislature.
So far, Wolf has won all legal challenges to his emergency order in both the Pennsylvania and U.S. Supreme Courts.
